The MCMI workshop accepts novel, previously unpublished papers that are not under review elsewhere. The topic of the workshop is the convergence and fusion of information from multiple modalities to allow for robust pattern recognition and understanding. The full list of topics of interest can be found on the Topics of Interest page.

Submission Format

All paper submissions must conform to the formatting instructions of Springer LNCS. The maximum length of the paper is 15 pages, including all references, figures, tables, and appendices. Papers must be submitted in PDF format and will follow a double-blind review process.

To ensure anonymity, please observe the following:

  • Do not include author names or institutional affiliations anywhere in the submitted PDF.
  • Avoid self-identifying references (e.g., use "Authors [X] showed…" instead of "We previously showed…").

If a paper exceeds 15 pages, a fee of €150 per additional page will be charged as part of the ICPR/LNCS process.

Only full papers (more than 6 pages) will be published in the LNCS workshop proceedings. Short papers (6 pages or fewer) may be presented at the workshop but will not appear in the proceedings.

Templates for the submission are available in LaTeX and Word.

Papers should be submitted through the official Microsoft CMT submission portal.

Authors of accepted papers will receive the camera-ready submission instructions directly from Springer after June 15, 2026. No action is required until this communication is received. Final papers must adhere to the Springer Guidelines for Authors.

At least one presenting author must be registered for ICPR 2026 for the paper to be included in the proceedings.

Paper Presentation (Poster vs Oral)

Authors of accepted papers will be notified of the presentation format for their paper. The presentation format will be determined by the Technical Program Committee based on the quality of the paper and the available time slots.
